Privacy, authorized use & user guide
A plain-language guide to what EmailFinderSM does, what it does not do, and how to manage your data.
Current browser-based version1. What the app does
- Contact organizer: lets you manually record an email, source platform, source URL, date, and optional notes.
- Bulk extractor: finds email-shaped strings in text you paste or TXT/CSV files you choose.
- Email lists: helps organize, search, and export saved lists.
- Import history: stores a limited record of import metadata, not the original source text.
Finding a string that looks like an email address does not prove the address exists, belongs to a particular person, or can receive messages.
2. Where data is stored
In the current version, contacts, saved lists, and import-history metadata are stored in browser local storage on the device and browser you use. They are not automatically synced to a cloud account by this app.
- People with access to the same browser profile or device may be able to access locally stored data.
- Private browsing, clearing site data, changing browsers/devices, or browser storage limits can affect saved records.
- Do not enter passwords, API secrets, sensitive personal data, or information you do not have permission to process.
- Import history records metadata such as source label, date, counts, and status; it is not intended to retain the original input text.
3. Export and delete your data
- Open Settings and choose Export all data to download a JSON backup of the app's contacts, saved lists, and import-history metadata.
- Store exported files somewhere secure. A downloaded backup is outside the app's local-storage controls.
- Use the clear-all control in Settings only after reviewing its confirmation; it removes the app's three local data sets from this browser.
- You can also export CSV data from the relevant pages. Exporting does not delete the original records.
Clearing the app's local keys does not erase files you already downloaded, browser backups, or copies you made elsewhere.
4. Authorized use and source limits
- Use user-provided files, official exports, and sources you are authorized to access.
- Follow applicable privacy rules, platform terms, consent requirements, and anti-spam laws before collecting or contacting people.
- Do not use this tool to harvest private details, bypass logins or CAPTCHAs, reuse session cookies, evade rate limits, or circumvent platform controls.
- No social-platform integration is currently configured. Do not assume a platform's official API exposes email addresses.
- Use collected addresses responsibly; keep only what is necessary and delete data when you no longer have a valid reason to retain it.
5. Practical quick start
- For a single authorized contact, use Contact organizer and record its source details.
- For text or a file you are allowed to process, open Bulk extractor, paste or select the input, then review the results.
- Save relevant results to a named list, check duplicates, and export only what you need.
- Review Import history for metadata about recent imports.
- Make a backup from Settings before clearing browser data or switching devices.
6. Limitations and security
This page describes the current app behavior, not a guarantee that every browser or deployment behaves identically. The app does not currently provide accounts, cloud sync, external platform connectors, or proof that an email address is deliverable. Browser local storage is not encrypted by this app as a separate security layer.
If you believe a record was collected or used improperly, stop processing it and remove it from the app and any exported copies you control.
